Gonzaga got here as they usually do, by steamrolling through the West Coast Conference. Despite the West Coast conference also featuring a top-20 team in Saint Mary’s and two potential at-large teams in Santa Clara and San Francisco, Gonzaga lost only one game (to Saint Mary’s) and controlled their conference title game, getting revenge against Saint Mary’s with an 82-69 victory.

WHO TO WATCH
- Chet Holmgren, C, Fr. – 14.2 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 3.6 BLK, 41.2% 3PT
- The potential first overall pick in the draft, Holmgren is 7’0” but runs the floor like a guard. He’s very thin (195 pounds) so he can get bullied by stronger players, and he seemed to be tiring a bit as the season went on, scoring under 10 points in each of the last three games. However, his defensive presence in the middle is always a factor, even if his offense isn’t there.
- Drew Timme, F, Jr. – 17.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.7 AST, 58.8% FG
- Andrew Nembhard, G, Sr. – 11.7 PPG, 5.7 AST, 1.6 STL
