See, being selective with a hockey betting card can prove useful. Even with a 10-game slate last night, we whittled it down to one and we scored another W on our lone bet. Having only four matchups to work with this evening, it might be best to play the same strategy, so let’s just get to it.

NHL Daily Betting Guide April 22, 2022

Ottawa Senators at Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m. ET

The Pick: PASS

Columbus can get back to the .500 mark with a win tonight, though it remains to be seen how much they actually care about that when they are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. The Senators are another East squad slated to miss the postseason, and as a result, this one seems like a harder contest to decipher being the season’s final days.

Seattle Kraken at Minnesota Wild, 8 p.m. ET

The Pick:

Colorado Avalanche @ Edmonton Oilers, 9 p.m. ET

The Pick: PASS

No shortage of superstars in this Western Conference encounter. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will wowing the home fans, while Colorado has Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. This will probably be the most fun of the four games on the slate tonight but from a betting perspective, it’s tough to tell considering both clubs have their playoff tickets secured already entering tonight.

Washington Capitals at Arizona Coyotes, 10:30 p.m. ET

The Pick: PASS

Pretty lopsided matchup to close things out this evening, with the playoff-bound Caps meeting the club with the fewest points (50) in all of hockey. The Coyotes are likely looking at another struggle here, as not only is Washington the far superior team, they also have the best record on the road (24-8-6) in the entire league. Their moneyline and puck line prices are too high for me to bet this affair, however.
