We got back on track with our NHL odds and picks on Wednesday and took a small step back to hover around .500 on Thursday, which isn’t so bad with a packed schedule. Joe went 17-19-0 overall on his picks but saw real success on the O/U, going 8-4 last night.

Friday night (April 15, 2022) is a much smaller slate, so let’s get right to it.

New York Islanders @ Montreal Canadiens, 7 p.m. ET

The Islanders are 6-4 over their last 10 games while the Canadiens are 3-6-1 and have lost three straight. Against the spread (ATS) this season, the Canadiens have been more reliable than the Islanders, posting a 37-37 record compared to New York’s 34-39 mark. The Canadiens also have a 40-31 over/under (O/U) record this season while the Islanders are 34-36.

The regular-season series is tied 1-1, with Montreal winning the last game 3-2.

THE PICK:

Winnipeg Jets @ Florida Panthers, 7 p.m. ET

The Panthers are red hot, having won nine of their last 10 games while the Jets have been playing respectably, going 5-4-1 over that span. Despite their lofty record, the Panthers are 38-35 ATS, while the Jets are slightly better at 39-35. Florida trends more towards the over, with an O/U record of 42-26 while the Jets are 37-32 O/U.

Florida leads the regular-season series 1-0, with a 5-3 win in January.
