With nine games on the slate, here are the NHL odds today, March 29, 2022, with our top picks.

NHL odds today: March 28

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins, 7 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Bruins -1.5
  • O/U: 6.5
  • Maple Leafs last 10: 6-3-1
  • Maple Leafs ATS:27-38
  • Bruins last 10: 8-1-1
  • Bruins ATS:25-40
  • The Pick: Auston Matthews anytime scorer
  • Why?: There’s a reason why he’s the NHL’s leading goal scorer. The Maple Leafs star has scored in eight of his last nine games for a total of 11 during that stretch. In his only other game against Boston this season, Matthews put up a pair of goals in a Toronto win.

New York Rangers @ Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Penguins -1.5
  • O/U: 6
  • Rangers last 10: 6-4-0
  • Rangers ATS: 33-33
  • Penguins last 10: 6-3-1
  • Penguins ATS: 33-34
  • The Pick: Penguins Moneyline
  • Why?: It isn’t easy to pick against the Rangers these days, but the Penguins have been playing well — and PPG Paints Arena hasn’t been a great place for the Blueshirts to play. New York has lost seven of its last eight games in Pittsburgh, including a 1-0 loss back on Feb. 26.

Carolina Hurricanes @ Tampa Bay Lightning

  • Puck Line: Lightning -1.5
  • O/U: 5.5
  • Hurricanes last 10: 5-3-2
  • Hurricanes ATS: 31-35
  • Lightning last 10: 4-6-0
  • Lightning ATS: 30-35
  • The Pick: Under total 5.5 goals scored
  • Why?: The Lightning haven’t instilled much confidence as of late, but a solid 4-1 win over the Islanders on Sunday should get them moving in the right direction. A potential goalie matchup of Andrei Vasilevskiy and Frederik Andersen could keep the score low — especially considering the Lightning’s last nine games have all gone under the total goals line.

Montreal Canadiens @ Florida Panthers, 7 p.m. ET

Panthers Kings
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports
  • Puck Line: Panthers -1.5
  • O/U: 6.5
  • Canadiens last 10: 3-3-4
  • Canadiens ATS: 34-32
  • Panthers last 10: 7-2-1
  • Panthers ATS: 34-31
  • The Pick: Nick Suzuki anytime scorer
  • Why?: It doesn’t look like anyone can stop the Panthers and their high-powered offense, so take your pick with who scores. But on the Montreal side, Nick Suzuki has scored a goal in three of the Canadiens’ last four games against Florida, which could provide more value when picking this game.

New York Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Islanders -1.5
  • O/U: 6
  • Islanders last 10: 6-3-1
  • Islanders ATS: 29-35
  • Blue Jackets last 10: 4-4-2
  • Blue Jackets ATS: 39-27
  • The Pick: Brock Nelson anytime scorer
  • Why?: No one is scoring at a more furious pace than the Islanders’ Nelson right now. His 12th goal of the month on Sunday took the NHL lead in March as he’s putting together a career year of 31 goals in 55 games.

Ottawa Senators @ Nashville Predators, 8 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Predators -1.5
  • O/U: 6
  • Senators last 10: 4-5-1
  • Senators ATS: 33-32
  • Predators last 10: 6-4-0
  • Predators ATS: 37-29
  • The Pick: Senators to cover
  • Why?: Ottawa never fares well in Nashville, having lost each of their last six games at Bridgestone Arena. This is a franchise in mourning, though, with the passing of its owner, Eugene Melnyk, on Monday. I expect a strong effort, even if it isn’t a winning one.

NHL odds today: Philadelphia Flyers @ Minnesota Wild, 8 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Wild -1.5
  • O/U: 6.5
  • Flyers last 10: 3-6-1
  • Flyers ATS: 32-34
  • Wild last 10: 8-1-1
  • Wild ATS: 30-34
  • The Pick: Mats Zuccarello over 1.5 points
  • Why?: Zuccarello is set to breeze past the Wild’s franchise record in assists as he has 48 in 56 games this season. Over his last 33 games, he has 34 helpers as an engine of Minnesota’s offense. Against a disastrous Flyers team, he could have a big night pulling the strings.

NHL odds today: Colorado Avalanche @ Calgary Flames, 9 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Flames -1.5
  • O/U: 6
  • Avalanche last 10:6-3-1
  • Avalanche ATS: 32-34
  • Flames last 10: 6-3-1
  • Flames ATS: 36-29
  • The Pick: Flames Moneyline
  • Why?: The best team in the Central and NHL travels to the best team in the Pacific as the high-powered Avalanche visit Calgary. Considering how both teams are playing this lately, this is a pick ’em — but the Avalanche are without a star in Nathan MacKinnon, which should put Calgary ahead by a nose.

Dallas Stars @ Anaheim Ducks, 10 p.m.

  • Puck Line: Stars -1.5
  • O/U: 5.5
  • Stars last 10: 5-5-0
  • Stars ATS: 30-35
  • Ducks last 10: 1-7-2
  • Ducks ATS: 34-33
  • The Pick: Stars to cover
  • Why?: The Ducks are in shambles having lost each of their last nine games. They’ve also failed to cover the puck line in each of their last nine against Central Division opponents. Advantage Dallas.
